Creating Yori Jori: Revolutionizing Solo Cooking
Discover the story behind Yori Jori, a recipe and meal planning app designed for single-households. Learn how it aims to transform cooking experiences by focusing on user needs and convenience, fostering community engagement, and promoting sustainable cooking practices.
Overview
In a single-person household, cooking can be challenging due to a lack of convenience or knowledge, particularly in today's fast-paced world. With the rise of food delivery and meal kits, plastic consumption has increased, contributing to environmental concerns. Yori Jori addresses these challenges by offering a solution tailored to single-households, promoting efficient meal planning and cooking while reducing plastic waste. By enhancing the recipe, cooking, and meal planning experience, Yori Jori not only meets the needs of users but also contributes to the well-being of our planet. Join us in revolutionizing solo cooking and making a positive impact, one meal at a time.
User Journey
During my research, it became clear that single-households prioritize convenience while also considering negative sides such as increasing delivery fees and plastic waste coming from delivery food. I imagined a possible user journey for Yori Jori to recognize the opportunities to set the goals.
Defining Goals and Shaping Information Architecture:
I spotted opportunities during the user journey and set goals: personalized recipes, meal planning for singles, community building for shared cooking joy, and reducing waste. To shape the app, I organized it with user-friendly sections like 'Home,' 'Challenge,' 'Saved,' 'My Cart,' and 'Meal Plan.'
